10 Comp (Lorraine) 2022 documents six live performances with Anthony Braxton’s Lorraine Trio featuring trumpeter Susana Santos Silva, accordionist/vocalist Adam Matlock, and Anthony Braxton and four studio recordings featuring Braxton, saxophonist James Fei, and bassists Zach Rowden and Carl Testa.
The Tri-Centric Foundation is a 501©(3) non-profit organization which supports the work and legacy of American composer and musician Anthony Braxton. Our primary activities are preservation and dissemination of his scores, recordings, and writings, production of performances, and pedagogy. In the coming years we aim to increase the amount of material and information that is available for artists, researchers, and students of all levels who would like to learn how to perform these important works.

Anthony Braxton (also referred to as B-Xo/N-0-1-47a or Composition 6g) is an album by Anthony Braxton, released in 1969 on the BYG Actuel label. It features performances by Braxton, violinist Leroy Jenkins, trumpeter Leo Smith and percussionist Steve McCall.

Early in his career, Anthony Braxton established a foundational taxonomy of musical concepts and gestural categories for improvisers and performers to use in the interpretation of his music – what Braxton calls Language Music. You can hear his first rigorous exploration of many of these on his celebrated 1969 record For Alto. There are only twelve basic varieties to his Language Music: long sound, accented long sound, trills, staccato formings, intervallic formings, and so on. An association with a particular variety of one of the Language Musics is a defining aspect of any of his individual works.

In Duo (Improv) 2017, he is joined by Eugene Chadbourne for eight sessions, their distinctive improvisational voices and mastery of instruments on fine display.

A reissue of Derek Bailey and Anthony Braxton’s Royal, expanded to include both intended volumes. Volume 1 was originally released in 1984; the second volume was never issued. The second release in a series of collaborations between Honest Jon’s Records and Incus: three double-LPs of the legendary free-improvising guitarist Derek Bailey, solo (HJR 200LP) and in duos with Anthony Braxton and Han Bennink (HJR 202LP), augmenting the original releases with marvelous, previously unissued music.
