János Starker (born July 5, 1924 in Budapest, Hungary; † April 28, 2013 in Bloomington, Indiana, USA) was a U.S. cellist and music educator of Hungarian descent. He is considered one of the most important cello virtuosos of the 20th century, along with Pau Casals, Emanuel Feuermann, Paul Tortelier, and Mstislav Rostropovich.
